Building Your Impact Network
Strategies, steps and practical tips for researchers that wish to expand their networks
How it works
The programme is designed to offer a personalised training experience with the flexibility to learn at your own pace and on your own schedule.
Taking a coaching-style approach, a series of short films guide you through the topics with a workbook and practical, reflective exercises to help you put what you have watched into practice and apply it to your own research.
Access is provided for 8 weeks and on average it takes 3-5 hours to complete each course, or the equivalent of a half-day workshop if completed in one go.
Optional weekly progress reminders help to keep you on track and you get a completion certificate when you finish.

Introduction to Networking for Impact
1. What are you interested in?
2. Who knows about your interests?
3. Who is in your network?
4. Reciprocity
In this short video, Saskia Walcott explains how the training works, what to expect and how it supports researchers in developing the skills, mindset and confidence to embed impact into their projects from the outset.
“The tasks are easy to understand and doable. They encouraged me to reflect on my own networking practices and make important changes. ”
“Networking is an essential part of life, and it is good to refresh networking skills continually. This course is for early to mid career researchers but also provides a useful reminder for experienced researchers. ”
“One of the things I like about Impact Integrators is that it breaks down ideas you think you know and forces you to reflect on them, which often brings new things to light.”
